Privacy Policy

 

What will happen to the information obtained during the StarWords study?

The study is confidential and the collected data will only be used for scientific purposes. We maintain full confidentiality of the collected data, and the data are stored on servers located in the European Union. Results will always be presented collectively (e.g. in scientific articles or presentations) and summarized on the project’s website. We do not distribute the individual data to any third parties. Your contact details (e.g. email address) will allow us to communicate with you during the project, will be confidential and will not be used without your knowledge and consent.

Can I opt out of the StarWords study?

It is possible to withdraw from the study at any time without any consequences. We do not require a reason for resignation. If you resign from participation in the project, you will be able to erase the data entered in the app, thus deleting the data from the project database. Erasing the data means that the data will be deleted and will not be available either in the app or in our data base.

 

GDPR - StarWords

Information obligation pursuant to Article 13 of the Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 on protection of individual persons with regard to the personal data processing and on the free flow of such data, and also repealing Directive 95/46/EC (general regulation on data protection) (Official Journal EU L 119 of 04.05.2016, page 1, with subsequent changes) — hereinafter as the GDPR.

1. Administrator

The administrator, i.e. the entity deciding how your personal data will be used, is the University of Warsaw,

represented by the Rector, based at ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28, 00-927 Warsaw.

2. Data Protection Officer

Rector of the University of Warsaw has appointed Data Protection Officer, whom you may contact for matters concerning your personal data. You can contact the DPO by sending an email to the following address: iod@adm.uw.edu.pl

3. Purpose and legal grounds of data processing

With your consent, we process your data for the purpose of carrying out the study entitled "New perspectives on assessing early language development in mono- and bilingual context: a web-based interactive parental report in a longitudinal study" (acronym: StarWords; 2018/31/B/HS6/03916). The consent may be withdrawn at any time by sending an e-mail to the following address: ewa.haman@psych.uw.edu.pl or karolina.mieszkowska@psych.uw.edu.pl

4. Period of storage of your personal data

Your personal data will be processed for the duration of the study and then anonymized.

5. Recipients of your data

The recipients of your data will be entities authorized under the law.

6. Your rights related to processing

We guarantee the fulfillment of all your rights under the GDPR, i.e. the right to access and rectify data and the right to delete or limit processing, as well as the right to object.

7. Obligation to provide data and consequences of failure to provide data

Providing data is voluntary, but if you do not provide it, you will not be able to participate in the study.

8. The right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Office

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the provisions of the general regulation on the protection of personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection.
